"Clouds #1" gouache on paper
i am in love with this photographer who understands how to light dark-skinned Black women well.
as a studying professional photographer i never understand that bullshit lie “dark skin is hard to light” or w/e, if you don’t fucking suck then it shouldn’t be a problem.
It’s because often in art schools they only fucking teach you how to care about light skin. It is bullshit I want to mollywhomp them
(in general i try not to reblog photoshoots bc I’m trying to focus on reblogging only things that show women/POC being active and unobjectified, but i’m so in love with this because of the gorgeous color design and lighting and the attached commentary!)
A piece I did for the Honolulu magazine. The story is kind of a blue one - it’s about local Hawaiian musician loosing their ways to get their music out because of the closing Borders bookstores , which carried their CDs as well as provided venue for live performances. Thanks again to AD Cody Kawamoto.
